The Dordogne is not just about glorious scenery, ancient Chateaux, great wine and food and long summer evenings by the pool. If you are serious about golf, there are three great golf clubs within 30 minutes of Sarlat.
For the serious golfer, Domaine De La Marterie, is probably the best in the area, with 18 holes, a fantastic design, and great variety & quality. Lolivarie, at Siorac en Perigord, south of the river on the Belves Rd, also has 18 holes, though technically very tight, as the fairways are not very wide.
Domaine de Rochebois, at Vitrac, on the north side of the Dordogne river. A Lovely course but only 9 holes. However, the Hotel has a great bar with pool table, for drinks afterwards. Adjacent to the bar, there is fine dining and an opportunity to soak up the views as the sun goes down.
